Agate:-
   
Agate is one of the most common materials used in hard stone carving, and has been recovered at a number of ancient sites, indicating its widespread use in years gone by. The most famous place that agate is mined at Idar-Oberstein in Germany where it has been collected since 1548. It is also mined in Uruguay, Brazil, United States, Mexico, Madagascar, Italy, Egypt, India, China and even Scotland.
It is cut through various layers of rock and is usually multi coloured showing rings of different colours (layers).
Health:- Blue agate is thought to be good for soothing especially Blue Lace, although the red agates are more energising in their healing properties, the green refreshes the mind and body.
